Marie-Luise Merschky was born in 1967 in Bonn. She studied at the Rhine’s Friedrich-Wilhelm University and passed her first juristic state examination there in 1994. She spent her time as a trainee in Halle up to her second state juristic examination in 1996.
She has worked as a correction helper and head of a work group at the Martin-Luther University in Halle.

Already as a trainee she worked in the partnership. Since 1996 she has been working as a lawyer in the chancellery in Halle and at times as a sleeping partner.
